Summer Playlist: 1990's West Coast Hip-Hop

Last week I started off the Summer Playlist Series with 1990's R&B and this week I'm back with 1990's West Coast Hip-Hop. In the early 90's the West Coast had the rap game on lock. Riding high from NWA, the super group disbanded and gave birth to the solo careers of Ice Cube as well as Dr. Dre who along with Suge Knight started Death Row Records, home of Snoop Dogg, and later 2Pac.

With this playlist I tried to start in the bay (San Fransico and Oakland) and work down the great state of California. Unfortunately arguably the most influential album of the decade (and maybe all-time) Dr. Dre's The Chronic is not available for streaming. If you have 'Let Me Ride," throw that in right after Ice Cube's 'It Was a Good Day.'
