ROH/NJPW's Global Wars Was Amazing

ROH/NJPW's Global Wars Was Amazing

As a lifelong wrestling fan, I have been fortunate to witness (in person) some incredible moments in the business. Ring of Honor's CM Punk v. Samoa Joe 60 minute draw in Chicago, Steve Corino finally winning the ECW World Title at November to Remember, and ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling's Global Wars.

On paper, Global Wars was a super show of dream matches. And believe it or not, the show lived up to the hype. Bullet Club solidified itself as a worldwide menace in professional wrestling and we got to witness a great showdown between Bobby Fish and Tomohiro Ishii for the ROH World TV Title, Colt Cabana's homecoming, Dalton Castle become the #1 Contender to the TV Title and the Briscoes giving War Machine the fight of their life.

After a night of teasing a new Bullet Club member, The Young Bucks interrupted the main event match for the ROH title between current champ Jay Lethal and hometown hero Colt Cobana. The Young Bucks entered the ring, holding two shirts, seemingly inviting both men to join. And then the lights went out.

When the lights came back on and Adam Cole  stood in the middle of the ring donning a Bullet Club shirt. An nWo-esque beat down ensued.

No one was safe during Cole's coronation, which was highlighted by a "Super Kick Party" of epic proportions. The Young Bucks hit 62 (thanks Mr Wrestling III, aka Steve Corino, for the count). The scene was surreal and set the tone for an amazing set of shows (War of the Worlds Night 1, Night 2, & Night 3).

Match of Night: Bobby Fish vs Tomorhiro Ishii
Story of the Night: Adam Cole joins Bullet Club
Performance of the Night: Young Bucks (for winning their match w/o any super kicks)

I can't recommend this PPV enough make sure to check it out. Here’s a look at some of the moments from Global Wars from an unprofessional photographer, me:
