Aug 2 Booked! John Cena (Heel) vs Dean Ambrose

A Ruthless Lunatic...

Now that WWE's brand split is finally here, its time to figure out how Smackdown Live can compete every week with Raw? WWE is off to a good start. Drafting the WWE champ, Dean Ambrose and backing that up with a solid roster filled with talent that can headline PPVs. One of those men is John Cena, aka "the face that runs the place." Many wrestling fans, mostly older, fan have grown tired of Cena.

But Cena is the key to Smackdown Live overcoming its big brother Raw from kicking it's you know what every week. His babyface run time is up his heel run time is now. With Cena pursuing other aspirations such as hosting and acting, his time while still in his prime in WWE is coming to an end. It's time for him to hit the reset button and go the Hogan route.

20 years ago Hulk Hogan, "Mr. Say Your Prayers and Eat Your Vitamins" was revealed to be the third man in the nWo at Bash at the Beach. A shock to wrestling fans, but it allowed the longtime white-meat bayface Hogan to remain relevant well past his glory days.

Cena's next title win will be his sixteenth. Dean Ambrose is the perfect babyface for Cena to turn on. A John Cena and Dean Ambrose feud would be so great it will be sure to boost ratings.

I would keep building Dean Ambrose as their top babyface while at the same time have Cena lose some key feuds with say AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt both men pushing him further away from the WWE title.

Dean would in turn beat top contenders like AJ, Bray, and possibly Orton who I would book going over on Brock Lesnar at Summer Slam.

This creates a perfect storm. Dean would be as over Daniel Bryan leading up to Wrestlemania 30. Meanwhile John Cena frustration with losing and not being in the title picture for quite some time will start to show. Forcing Cena to use ruthless aggression to earn a title shot.

Dean has said he'll fight anybody anywhere because he's a fighting champion. Wrestling marks would love such a feud remembering John Cena's ruthless aggression era and Dean Ambrose craziness makes for great television.
