Love & Hip Hop: New York Season 8 Episode 16 Recap: Messy Men
Anais’ husband Ruben is an enigma. He rightly so left Anais when he found out his wife of 14 years was cheating with Rich Dollaz. She’s consistently put some of the blame for her actions on him. And then after a halfhearted apology, he takes her back! Only to approach Rich Dollaz to claim Anais is his woman now. Rich being messy thanked Ruben for taking Anais off his hands because he didn’t want to deal with a woman who would show her nookie to Jaquae. Why? Rich was home free, he’s already dealing with diabetes, did he need another thing to kill him? Ruben still left with Anais, so maybe Rich’s messiness will bring them closer together.
Safaree seems to be more comfortable taking nudes than confronting people. He was standoffish when he told Yandy the Paradise remix was done, without Yandy hearing it. And didn’t even give Bri a heads up that here verse didn’t even make the cut. Instead he invited Mariah, Jaquae, and Kiyanne on stage to perform their verses all while Bri was on the floor vibing waiting for her call up. Since she didn’t get one, she hopped her 4’10 self on stage and blasted Jaquae and his new bae Kiyanne.
As for the rest of the season finale it was pretty meh. Jonathan played matchmaker for Ruben and Anias, Bianca no-showed JuJu’s play. That led to JuJu standing in for her and Safaree trying to go for a kiss after hearing “cut!”
Remy Ma debuted her new song Melanin Magic for some industry folks who said it was next to blow.No Bianca, no James R. no Lil Mo and Karl, no Sophia Body, Trent Crews, or Judy.
Hopefully the reunion has more fireworks than this lackluster ending to a dull season.
