Here's How Extreme Rules (2016) Will Play Out

The WWE has a quick turnaround this time with Extreme Rules being three weeks after Payback. So that means I'm back as well with my predictions on how Extreme Rules will play out. This is a "New Era" so I will be keeping track of my predictions going forward. Payback I went 7-2 if I count getting the McMahon segment right. Yay me! Side note, Its amazing that WWE has an entire PPV, let alone a match called "extreme." The should have had The New Day go back to 90s for extreme, there were dinosaurs on skateboards, fruit snacks that were long, or shot shit into your mouth and a wrestling promotion. On to the picks.

Kickoff Pre-Show

Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin (No Disqualification Match)

You know the if the "New Era" is just going to be the same matches over and over and over and over and, well you get the point, then I'm out. Corbin had no business losing to Ziggler at Payback. Extreme Rules will be different Corbin wins and finishes this feud! Thank you Corbin.

Winner: Baron Corbin

Main Show

Kalisto vs. Rusev (United States Championship)

Well well well, would you look at that, the United States Championship is on the main show, well done WWE. With the League of Nations being over, it's nice to see Rusev being booked as "Monster Heel" and Lana is just nice to see her. Kalisto hasn't been a very good U.S. champ partly due to booking and partly due to Kalisto. His character is just a high flyer and nothing else. Rusev will take this belt, because Sami Zayn is going to need a heel for the summer to battle.

Winner: Rusev
Dream: Rusev turns the belt into the European Championship

Dean Ambrose vs Chris Jericho (Asylum Match)

This went from feuding over a talk show to avenging a plant (R.I.P. Mitch). Jericho has been great as a heel, while Dean has been just Dean. WWE stop telling us this man is crazy and he's a lunatic but rarely does anything crazy or loony. I mean he shows up to work on time EVERY week! Crazy people, such as Lauryn Hill energy and time to align so she shows up two hours late to concerts. The fact that its a cage match with weapons does absolutely nothing for me. So Dean will win because Jericho doesn't need a victory and this feud needs to end.

WWE Fact: The bout is, in essence, a Steel Cage Match, but with various weapons suspended above the structure that encases the dueling Superstars. The "escape the cage" stipulation is also off the table; the only way to win the Asylum Match is to pin opponent or make him submit. via WWE

Winner: Dean Ambrose

The Usos vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows (Tag Team Tornado Match)

Since making their in ring debut April 25, Anderson & Gallows have faced The Usos in some form or another 6 out of their first 7 matches. Not only that, Anderson & Gallows have a losing record of 3-4 after looking like monsters their first night on Raw. Losing 4 straight matches to The Usos is not only a quick way to lose steam but it's also no reason to have a fifth match! WWE doesn't like logic so I'll go against the grain and pick Anderson & Gallows.

Winner: Anderson & Gallows

The New Day (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs. The Vaudevillains

The New Day are getting close to to setting a record for longest tag team champion reign. At Extreme Rules The New Day will have held the titles for 272 days, leaving them 59 days behind current record holders Paul London and Brian Kendrick. The WWE loves to break records of people they don't mention, so even The Vaudevillians have been booked well since their debut, I don't see them stopping history.

Winner: The New Day Retains

The Miz (Intercontinental Champion)  vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn (Fatal 4-Way Match)

The WWE has a way of making us fans throw out logic when it comes to getting things we want. Shane shouldn't be in charge in any capacity, he lost to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32 , AJ Styles, a babyface, probably shouldn't team with heels Anderson and Gallows, and Sami Zayn should not have been eligible to participate in this match, just because the crowd cheered when he picked up the Intercontinental title. He did defeat The Miz afterwards so here we are. All of these guys can go and this will probably be Match of the Night.

Winner: Cesaro

Charlotte (WWE Women's Champion) vs. Natalya (Submission Match Ric Flair banned from ringside)

Clusterfuck would be an understatement when describing the end of their Payback match. Add Montreal Screw Job to the long list of shit the WWE needs to let go of. The added stipulation of Ric Flair being banned from ringside just helps when Charlotte eventually drops Ric Flair. The outcome of this match unfortunately will be the same as Payback.

WWE Fact: Extreme Rules will be the 11th straight WWE PPV to feature a match with Charlotte. This is the longest streak of PPVs involving a single woman in the history of WWE. - via  bootybootybootyrocki

Winner: Charlotte Retains

Roman Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Champion) vs. AJ Styles (Extreme Rules Match)

Say what you will about Roman Reigns, but I can't remember the last time he phoned it in on a PPV, so I expect another solid match between these two with another overbooked ending.

Winner: Roman Reigns
